At Investable, accounts may be closed for a few key reasons, either initiated by the client or due to inactivity under our internal policies. Below, we explain each situation and what you can do next.
1. Client-Directed Account Closure
You have full control over your relationship with Investable. If you choose to close your account, you can request this at any time by emailing us at [email protected].
Once your request is confirmed:
We will liquidate any remaining investment positions.
We will coordinate the transfer of your remaining cash balance to your linked bank account (or another account of your choosing).
After your account is fully liquidated and the balance reaches $0, your account will be officially closed.
If you ever decide to return to Investable, you’ll need to go through the full onboarding process again, including signing a new Investment Advisory Agreement (IAA).
2. Account Inactivity
We monitor accounts for activity to maintain system integrity, prevent fraud, and ensure optimal service for active users. There are a few scenarios where your account may be closed due to inactivity:
Unfunded or Negative Balance Accounts
If your account has:
A balance of $0 or less, and
Has never had a successful deposit.
If this status remains unchanged for 45 consecutive days, we will close the account.
Accounts with Failed Deposit Attempts
If your account experiences a failed deposit attempt and has never had a successful deposit, it will also be considered inactive. If no successful deposit is made within 45 days of the failure, the account will be closed.
In some cases, accounts with previously successful deposits prior to the failed deposit may be flagged for internal review but not considered inactive. These cases will be handled at the sole discretion of Investable.
Note: Upon termination of an account, all unearned rewards (e.g., promotional deposits) will be credited back to Investable. Promotional rewards are earned based on the terms and guidelines of each specific promotion. Customers with terminated accounts are not entitled nor eligible to collect unearned rewards.
